Electric Eskimo

My friend Log has released his secret home made recordings to the world. I have been listening to three of his tracks on repeat since Christmas and loving them. Anyway go check out his fantastic banjo work and word to the lovely Tsz for busting out this cool Eskimo based illustration.

Get it made

Something I should have posted about sooner but you know how it goes… After a brief stint making fancy flash sites and viral campaigns for the guys at Codemasters. I am now working for my old friends at Made Media and it’s great. We have been working on some really interesting projects. So thanks for the fun times everyone at team Codemasters, especially Andy, Nik and Cheryl and thanks for the opportunity Jake, Josh and Tim I’m proud to be one of the team.

“Formally OCS (Orinoka Crash Suite) began as a way for John Dwyer to release his instrumental, experimental home recordings. Over the course of 5 albums its has evolved into a full band.”

Outcrowd at the Jug of Ale

As part of the Flatpack Festival this year the Outcrowd were asked to go paint on the walls of Moseley drinking hole the Jug of Ale. Unfortunately due to a combo from the British court systems (jury service) and the British winter (a badass cold) I was unable to make it down. Fortunately Mr Ben Javens has posted some lovely photos to his Photobucket account.

Well I wasn’t even well enough to make it to the opening party hosted by Capsule. But I am going to go check it out on Sunday 18th as Copter will be playing there so please come along.

Interview with Lee Basford in PingMag

Lee BasfordThis is Kind of old news now but you may have missed this really nice interview with fellow Outcrowd member Lee Basford in the fantastic PingMag.

Lee, please describe what you do in your own words.
I’m an art director at Fluid in England, but my own work tends to fall in and around the overlap of art and design.

I think that because I usually work on tight deadlines, in the high-pressure led design industry using computers most of the time, everything always feels very digital, even though a lot of the time I try to make things appear analogue. The work I create outside this work environment tends to be a lot more handmade (and usually ends up with my hands in a mess with cuts and splinters).

I’m always ready for happy accidents, where it’s nice not to have the option of an ‘undo’ key.

A large part of this work is created pretty quickly with whatever materials are around or can be easily accessed, which at times can be a guiding force in the outcome of the work. This, together with the organic growth and exploration of an initial idea and its possibilities. I’m always ready for happy accidents, where it’s nice not to have the option of an ‘undo’ key.
