Ian MacKaye is alive. Elvis is still dead

I just had a rather nasty shock when I thought Ian MacKaye was dead. Turns out he’s not. So breath a sigh of relief and check out this rad interview by Ian Svenonius on Soft Focus. and then go buy an Evens album to celebrate.

Richard Prince on VBS

I just spent the morning catching up on some shows on VBS and was really pleased to see they have a new arts show, the imaginatively titled Arts Talk! In their first episode VBS catch up with artist Richard Prince who is pretty successful in the art world but I only knew of him from the great album cover he created for Sonic Nurse. He is one hell of an interesting character and has created one of the coolest studio spaces I’ve ever seen, out in the middle of nowhere. I guess it’s much easier to get some work done when you can’t leave the house due to ice storms and the only local amenities are one diner that opens for only half the week. Any way go check it out!

Furni - “they’re good with wood”

While searching for a new alarm clock I stumbled upon Furni a Canadian based two man operation making limited run handmade designs for interiors. Their current collection contains predominantly clock based products, however they have made plenty of other great non-time based products in the past. Anyway go check them out and maybe buy something. Also for all you skaters out there you may well notice that all of their products have a recurring theme.
